I KNOW I AM THE WORST AT KEEPING UP WITH THINGS but whatever. I'm back. Um so yeah it's been like over a month but I'm not dead. So that's good.  I died my hair purple, got a pair of creepers, bought some pretty cool clothes and I got a new bedroom. Oh and I'm moving in with my dad in the city and I'm going back to school. But the school I'm going to is uniform free! So it'll hopefully be good.

I'm far too lazy right now to take outfit pictures, although today two lovely ladies from IZE Online Magazine approached me in the city and took my photo for their January issue!

I look extremely awkward and uncomfortable, but anyway, this is what I wore today.
Everything is thrifted except for the shoes. They're by Demonia and i got them from VooDoo Lulu.

Anyway, I shall hopefully see you soon!

opshop/rummage haul

I pinky promised you in the last post that I would post pictures of my opshop and suitcase rummage scores from the past week. An dI managed to keep that promise.
Here we go...

On Sunday I bought this adorable necklace from Holly of Pannikin. It was only $1 and I actually don't really own that much jewellery. So I bought this along with a little plastic dinosaur necklace.

I couldn't leave this one. I wouldn't have cared how much it is,  I needed this top. I wore a purple and pink version just like it when I was five to my mum's wedding. I was so lovely, but I think it got lost during the Queensland floods at the start of this year. So I had to have it. I wore a tiny pink and purple one with matching pants. My Mum didn't even wear a dress to her wedding. She just wore a black shirt with bright patchwork flare pants (which I'm extremely envious of, those pants are like heaven) and clunky mary jane shoes.
Mum and Steve- Wedding 2003
Myself at the wedding, 2003. I'd literally just turned five. Mum and Steve actually got married on my fifth birthday. :)

These jeans were from an op shop I've only just discovered. It's only a 10-15 minute bike ride from my dad's house and nearly everything is $2. Which is pretty nifty. And they have an amazing collection of 'Mom Jeans'. I just want them all.  But I am a tiny person and I barely fit anything normal people sized. So that kinda sucks.

Yay! High waisted tartan pants! These were from a lovely lady at suitcase rummage. Her entire stall was just hippy clothes everywhere. There was a nice vibe around there. Everything was tie dye and floaty. And everything was cheap too!

My old high-waisted shorts are far too small now, so for $2 I couldn't pass these up.

Two new tops! The one on the right is this awesome Christmas-y-ish Hawaiian shirt thing. And the other one is just a nice yellowy sweater top with short poofy sleeves.

According to my sister, this top looks like scrambled eggs.

I don't really own many miniskirts and I really liked the print on this one. This was also from the nice hippy lady.

Seriously. Perfect fitting-floral-pastel-frilly-poofy dress. How can I not?

You may protest, but I have a secret love for velvet. I bought another purple one with lace and little 3D roses too. But it
a a really weird shape.

Ugh I love high waisted flares. Especially clown tartan ones.

To be honest I don't actually know whether this would be 60's or 70's. I'm a bit hopeless. But It's so gorgeous.

I also thrifted this lovely fabric for $2. I think I'm going to hang it over my doorway or perhaps make it into a curtain.

Hopefully I'll see you again soon!

Suitcase Rummage!

Okay, so on Sunday I had a stall at Suitcase Rummage. It went quite well, apart from the wind practically tearing everybody's stalls apart. The weather was ridiculous. Everyone thought it would be a perfect day, until of course the time had come when we were all setting up our stalls and the constant gigantic gusts of wind caused everyones stalls to fly everywhere. But other than that, I earned a bit and bought even more!
Simmone Grinder.
Kommoner.
End of day packup.

I pinky promise that I will put up pictures of all of my latest opshop and rummage hauls...
But for now I shall go feast on strawberry cakes and macarons.
See you soon!

Sunday, 2 October 2011

Sorry for the lack posting, I've just been super lazy lately. But last saturday I went to 'Ancient Arts Revival'. Which is a little market/festival/exhibition thing with workshops and stuff too. There was one market stall in particular that I absolutely could NOT stay away from. Louise Kennedy from Nobby Village was selling off some of her wonderful vintage clothing collection. I didn't get many decent photos of the actual stall, but I bought some lovely things... Oh, and I met Kitty! The one and only Kitty from Kitty's Vintage Kitsch!
This is the loverly Louise of Nobby Village.

I absolutely adored this scarf and decided I had to have it.

Hurrah! Pedal Pushers!

This dress was a PERFECT fit and it was only $15!

This photo seems to make me look like a normal
teenager taking a normal picture of myself. It's worries me.

I don't really own any gloves and I figured I should buy some even if we are coming out of winter her in Australia, but the were lovely and only $3.

I couldn't bare to see these beauties go to anyone else. I had to buy them.

This was the only picture I managed to get of what I was wearing, even if you can't really see. But yeah.
BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

simply white.

Today I went op shopping. Not a major op shopping trip, just to the very few ones around me. Being two.
But yeah, I went to Salvos and the only thing I really found was this amazing dress. It fits me perfectly and its a really nice shape and I've actually been looking for a dress with this neck shape for a while now. The only annoying thing is that the highest I can bring my arms up is straight out the side. But it only cost me $5! When I forst saw it I thought it was a wedding dress. But now I'm not sure whether it's a bridal gown, bridesmaids dress or just a nice fancy gown.

 See you soon! Erin. xx

NEW CAMERA. Yay now I will try and post more. If I can be bothered.

But yeah, hey again. Yesterday was my birthday and I got a few lovely things like  a camera, which is a Nikon Coolpix L120. It's one of the best cameras in its price range which is pretty nifty... I also got this lovely 1970's collared dress. It's pretty much a perfect fit, fortunately for me.
Another birthday score was this lovely high waisted floral maxi which happens to go quite well with my favourite 'lazy-cardi-.
This wasn't a birthday present, though I did successfully thrift it a few weeks ago. I've been looking for a cheap apron. My sister has a pink frilly one with lacy pockets and all, but she never lets me wear it. So thankfully I nabbed this one for 50c. At the op shop where I found it, another lady picked it up before me and carried it around the shop for a while with her other items as I kept my eye on it. Finally she sighed and put it back because the tag said $5, so I grabbed it as soon as she was out of sight. Since I go to that thrift shop so often, the women that work there know me quite well and give me discounts every time I go so I got it for a lot cheaper that it was supposed to be so I bought it before the other lady who had it before me saw it. Just as I was walking out the door theshe walked over to the table where she left the apron, sighed, and walked up to the counter to ask about it. I quickly ran away before she saw me with it. I just couldn't bring myself to part with it.

But on other news, 13th birthdays are supposed to be super exciting and what-not, but really, they are not. To be honest, I actually forgot it was my birthday yesterday when I woke up. That was until my dad burst through the door and screamed "HAPPY BIRTHDAY".  But um yeah he got me a book called 'My Cool Campervan' which is full of pretty retro campervans and I've wanted it for ages so thats cool. He also got me a 12 month subscription to Frankie Magazine.

Also, you should all go to Kaelah Bee's blog and enter to win a wonderful Jensen record player! All you have to do is leave a comment saying what record you would play on it along with your email address.

Anywayyyyyyy...... I suppose I will see you soon!

She wore a skirt with flowers...

Hello dearies,

Today mother and I went birthday shopping. My birthday is this tuesday and hers happens to be the day before mine, so we figured we should go shopping and buy each other some prezzies. We went to a load of op-shops. Annerley is Brisbane seems to have so many great thrift shops. One of them is a lifeline 'vintage revival' so it has some amazing retro pieces. Mum bought me a beautiful short 70's dress. It's black with white and yellow flowers. Collared and short sleeved. It's a perfect fit! As I was trying it on, I came out of the change room wearing it, to show my sister, and literally everyone in the store swarmed around me saying how great it looked on me. Although there was only about 7 people in there. Anyhow, I also got this super-comfy high-waisted maxi skirt from a vinnies, also at Annerley. I don't actually get either of them until tuesday, but i'm also getting a camera for my birthday so I'll be able to show you both of them with my new camera! But I shall show you some crappy iPhone quality pictures that I managed to take whilst my phone still had battery at the Annerley Antique Centre...

This fringed leather jacket was so great, but it was $99. This one was from Vintage Revival.
This was easily my favourite thing I spotted at the antique centre. 'Twas an antique, fully working dentist chair. It's a shame I don't carry an extra $3500 around with me.
so. many. bow ties.
This dress would have been amazing. But I didn't have time to try it on, unfortunately.

Hope to see you all again soon,
Erin. (:
